Corrections, wrong-person reports and takedowns

To report an error, an item about a different person, or to request a takedown, email [email protected] with the item’s reference id (shown on each item page) or its link.

• Wrong-person matches are suppressed within 24 hours of the report, with the reason code wrong_person.
• Takedown requests from a publication or an author are suppressed with the reason code takedown.
• Errors in a listed headline, author or date are handled with the reason code correction; a dead original link uses dead_link.

A suppression hides the item from every page. The log keeps a record of the suppression and its reason; nothing is deleted or rewritten.
